Barbecue was hot ticket
By Tony LeaPerfect weather on the evening of June 10th saw a record attendance of over 125 people. The new ‘all under one roof’ marquee proved to be a great success and there were many compliments for the food and the wide display of desserts.
The raffle ladies Debbie Sim and Tracy Knowles did a wonderful job, collecting just over £500. Our guest auctioneer Peter Williams was also excellent, raising around £2,400 from some very attractive auction items. As a result the evening raised a record £3,100, which should go a long way to finishing off the last of the major alterations needed to the Parish Hall.
Thanks also to all those who came along on Saturday and Sunday to help us set up, particularly Barnaby, Richard, Roger and Brian – not forgetting of course my wife Pat, who organised the whole evening ably assisted by Trish Usborne.
