Scouts seek Flower Show funding boostBy Marilyn Burrows
Lee Common Scout Group concludes its summer programme with, of course, the Flower Show tombola stall. As you will no doubt anticipate, our scouts will shortly be delivering request slips to the majority of houses in the vicinity of The Lee, hoping for your generous contributions to our major fund-raising event. Your overwhelming response last year ensured that we raised enough money to refurbish our HQ to a standard which allowed it to be made available for hire in conjunction with the Parish Hall.
Our members reviewed the last 12 months at the recent AGM and each section looks forward to the summer’s activities such as:
- the District
Beaver Fun Day
- kayaking practice
on the Thames for the scouts
- and fire-lighting
and backwoods cooking
for the cubs
