The Lee W.I. news By Joyce Swain The Lee W.I. met on the 12th September at The Parish Hall. We heard with sadness of the death of Brenda Ricket, a long time member. Members are attending the ‘Classical Spectacular’, and an evening with Stella Rimington, and of course, the Bucks Federation’s council meeting. June Lock has arranged a theatre outing for December at Windsor theatre for members, and members are also due to attend the group meeting. The treasurer, June Pearce, was happy with the financial situation; the stall at the Flower Show and the strawberry tea at the home of Gill Holland were very successful and have ensured a good bank balance. June Lock was thanked for arranging our summer outing to the herb farm at Sonning Common, a most enjoyable day. We were then entertained by the Belmont Duo, evoking the Victorian era in words and music, a very pleasant interlude. The usual delicious tea sent us all home happy! |
