A keyboard soirée with a difference at The Old Church
By John Fortgang

Old Church The Old Church was packed on the 12th November for another of its regular treats. This time it was the Old Church Trust’s friend and regular performer Gordon Cumming, recently returned from a spell of bookbinding in Norway.
He entertained us with his amazing electronic keyboard, so that the Old Church sounded as if it contained a whole variety of instruments. Gordon played a range of pieces from Bach to Gershwin, managing to make it sound as if it he had brought an entire orchestra with him. He even played duets, at one point finishing before himself.

His playing was interspersed with his usual informative and amusing asides. The whole evening was greatly enjoyed by everyone there.

Incidentally, please note that the next event, the Fayrfax Consort, is now on the 10th December, not the 3rd, as they were double booked.
