Bonfire and fireworks on Sunday 5th November
By Tony Lea This proved to be a great success again this year with many compliments for the fireworks display organised by Stephen Humphreys in particular and his helpers. This year we also had a guy on the fire erected by Paul Humphreys.
The various stalls selling
hot dogs, tea, coffee and hot drinks plus beer and wine did a roaring trade.
Many thanks are due to Karel Lewis for organising most of this. As a result
we raised approximately £1,350 for the Parish Hall. Many thanks to
all those who helped by turning out on Sunday morning and evening plus Monday
afternoon’s little group including Reina Free and Pippa Hart. Once again
we are grateful to Barbara Nelson for the use of her field. Finally thanks are due to Chris Nevill and the scouts and to Barnaby Usborne who always works tirelessly at these events. To those I haven’t mentioned, apologies but many thanks nevertheless.
