Roving supper
By Tony LeaThe Roving Supper on Saturday 18th November proved to be a great success with the largest number of participants attending this years event. We started at the Village Hall for drinks and delicious canapés. A choice of envelope then told you where to go for the main course with instructions to return by 10:00 pm at the latest for desserts, cheese and biscuits, coffee and port. It was noted that the issuer of the instruction did not return until 10:25pm!! There were many complimentary remarks on the food and there was a great atmosphere.
Particular thanks are due to those who provided canapés, desserts, the cheese board and raffle prizes and specific thanks to the providers of the main courses: Mike and Jenny Senior, Jerry and Jim Spence, Diana and David Jones, Ann and David Barnett, Anthea and Geoff Hartley, Kelly Stone and Trish and Barnaby Usborne. It was good to see some of the more recent arrivals in the area and they remarked on what a great opportunity it was to meet their neighbours. This is an evening growing in popularity and our final thanks go to the organiser of this event Pat Lea!!!
