Lee Common School news
By Annie Smith

Plans for this year’s Christmas Fair have been keeping most of the mums busy and out of mischief in November, so please do make all our efforts worthwhile by visiting the school on Saturday 2nd December. We look forward to seeing you between 2 pm and 5 pm. You will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine with a home made mince pie and then spend some time browsing in the ‘Xmas Market’, where we will be selling home made cakes, preserves and plants. There will be both an adult and children’s tombola in addition to our ever popular raffle – with prizes including 4 tickets to an International Show Jumping event at Olympia in London, a family photo sitting with Pippa Hart and a locally produced free range turkey, plus many other fantastic gifts.

school chick Younger visitors will be able to play a host of different games in the games room and also visit ‘Gift Alley’, where they can shop in secret for mums, dads and brothers and sisters with each gift purchased being wrapped for them.
Between 3 pm – 3:30 pm and 4 pm – 4:30 pm, Cara Saul will be providing children’s entertainment, which is payable on the door. Entrance for adults is 50p with children free of charge.

The ‘Living Eggs’ project, reported last month, has been a great success.
All pupils thoroughly enjoyed watching the eggs begin to crack and some actually saw a few of the chicks hatch, although the majority were born during the night. All eleven chicks are now being cared for by Mrs Debono.

We do hope that you have made a diary note of the farewell tea to mark Mrs Richardson’s retirement on Friday 15th December from 2 – 3:15 pm at the school. This is an opportunity for everyone to say their goodbyes and we are inviting anyone who knows Margaret to attend. If you would like to come, we would ask that you kindly RSVP to Mrs Jane Reynolds, at the school office on 01494 837267. Jane is also happy to take any contributions towards a leaving gift.

Another reminder to please take a look at the LCSA’s new website, which you may visit at www.leecommonpta.org. Details of the 2006 Christmas card, containing artwork from all of the children in the school, is now available to view on the site, so if you would like to support us by purchasing some for £2.50 for a pack of 5 cards, please take a look.

A date for your diary: 12th December 1:30 pm is the Christmas Play at the school.
