gardens Gardens are opening!
By Trish Swain

After a long wet winter, harbingers of spring are welcome. Catkins, lambs, daffodils and crocus all gladden the heart. The bright coloured cover of ‘The Yellow Book’ produced by The National Garden Scheme (NGS) is another sign that the season is moving on, and that gardeners are preparing to throw open their gates to visitors.

The gardens at Kingswood House and 2 Kingswood Cottage will be open on Sunday 27th May from 2 – 6 pm. Last year Buckinghamshire gardens raised around £50,000 for the NGS, and over £1 million was raised countrywide, supporting a range of charities including Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Delicious cream teas will be available throughout the afternoon with the proceeds going to the Parish Church.

If you would like a free leaflet featuring all the gardens open in Buckinghamshire, please contact 837752. Visit the website www.ngs.org.uk for further information.
