Leeside Nursery Make a date for the Fete
By Catherine Larmour

It’s hard to believe that summer is just around the corner, and that the fête is happening next month. If 16th June is not yet highlighted on your calendar, then make sure you do it soon, so that you don’t miss out on one of the area’s favourite annual events.

This year, we are very pleased to announce that our Vicar, David Burgess, has agreed to open the proceedings – this happily coincides with his gradual return to work after his recent illness. We look forward to it.

Now’s the time to start rifling through your cupboards, bookshelves and flower beds to see if you can find things we can sell or use as prizes at the fête. These are the people you need to contact if you have any of the following to donate:
  • Plants: Mary Stewart-Liberty (837341).
    Raffle tickets/prizes
    : Tim Hart (837328).
  • Cakes/jam/produce: Catherine Larmour (837309).
  • Cakes for teas: Ros Morris (864528).
  • Bric-a-brac (no rubbish please!): Reina Free (837407).
  • Tombola prizes: Paul Woodhouse (837555) or Alison Weir (837529).
  • Books/toys: Jo and Steve Wall (837721)
  • Children’s tombola: Charlotte Reynolds (793221).
And of course any offers of help for the day, especially for setting up or clearing up, would be hugely appreciated. Thanks to all the kind folk who have already said they’ll give us a hand to try and make it as successful and enjoyable a day as ever! More news next month…
