Leeside Nursery Leeside Nursery School
By Suzanne Beaney

During the last half term our topic has been nursery rhymes. We made spiders out of wool that climbed up a kitchen roll middle when the sun came out, a clock with a mouse that ran up and down it, a cow that jumped over a plate moon and salt dough pea green boat with owl and pussycat. Can you name the nursery rhyme?

We celebrated Chinese New Year with the children playing musical instruments to make the ‘dragon’ dance (children under a length of material) and using chopsticks to eat rice and prawn crackers.

Mother’s Day cards were made by finger painting flowers on them and the Easter card was an egg with a split pin so that when it opened it revealed a chick. We finished the term with a mothers’ coffee morning; the children sang songs for them and had a teddy bears’ Easter hat parade.

Four children left to go to Lee Common School: we wish them well.
