It’s the street of shameOK its real name might be Potter Row, but no-one could argue that this new moniker doesn’t suit it better. The road probably has more potholes in it than any other in The Lee (Leather Lane would be a strong contender, if it weren’t in the parish of Great Missenden). Even when the council comes to patch up the holes it’s often done in a thoroughly slapdash way, which means it can take only a couple of hard frosts to open them up again. So the pothole seems to be a fact of life, not just in Potter Row but in many other parts of the parish. But does it HAVE to be that way? This Newsletter no longer thinks so! Watch this space next month: the fightback is about to begin! |
