The Lee W.I.By Joyce Swain
The Lee W.I. met at the Parish Hall on 10th April. The president took us through the county and national business: June Lock is to be our delegate at the Annual General Meeting at the Albert Hall next month.
The walkers were visiting Cliveden on 26th April, and on 10th May June Lock has organised a coach outing to the Savill Gardens in Windsor.
We then listened to Mr Sharp of the St Francis Hospice, newly opened in Berkhampstead. We were very impressed by the breadth of help offered for respite care, 24 hours a day where necessary, or for day care. He gave us many examples of the sort of individual help available – even bringing in a much-loved horse to brighten an elderly owner’s final days.
We ended with our usual deliciously welcome tea.
