Shop AGM… funds needed
By John Fortgang

It is very gratifying to be told by so many that they enjoy using the shop and find it useful. Certainly the volunteers who work there (particularly those new to the area) are making lots of new friends. There are many regular customers and we hope those of you haven’t yet tried the shop will do so.

shop A reminder that the temporary planning permission for the cabin expires in March next year, so we will need to be well on the way with the construction of the new shop which is to be an extension to the Parish Hall.

We need to raise between £30,000 and £40,000, an ambitious target, but essential if the shop is to continue. The committee will be calling on everyone for further contributions, as well as looking at other sources of funding.

The other announcement is that ‘The Lee Parish Community Shop Association Ltd’, the company which owns the shop, will be holding its first AGM at the Parish Hall on Tuesday 25th September, at 7:30 pm. All who have shares in the company are invited to attend, to hear an up to date report, consider the accounts, elect a management committee etc. Shares are £10 each, limited to one per person, and can be obtained from me (837349), Fiona Baxter (837715) or any member of the committee, including Giles Knowles, Sally Campbell, Richard Stewart-Liberty, Geoff Swindells, Max Haines and Catherine Lloyd. Or ask at the shop.

We will also sell shares on the door at the meeting, but it would be better to buy your share before hand.
