By Tony Lea With the annual Firework Night and Roving Supper being held in November in aid of the Parish Hall I thought I would bring you up to date with work carried out there from monies raised over the last 12 months. Following the installation of new ladies’ toilets and a disabled toilet, plus new heating and lighting, it was decided to replace all the old interior wall boarding with new plasterboard and additional insulation, and then re-decorate. At the same time we decided to replace the old hatch to the kitchen with a set of folding screens. In addition we replaced the sink and all the work surfaces in the kitchen before finishing off with a re-polishing of the Hall floor. I hope that those of you who use the Hall in the coming months will agree that we now have a facility of which to be proud. It is pleasing to report that we are now getting more regular use by new groups and that the Hall is becoming self-financing. We still have some other ideas in mind to improve the facilities and these will be carried out when further funds become available. I would like to thank all those of you who are involved in the various Hall committees and who have supported our fund-raising events. Roving Supper By Tony Lea This year’s Roving Supper will be held on Saturday 17th November commencing at the Parish Hall at 7:30 pm. We will start with drinks and canapés and then move on to various houses for the main course. We will then return to the Hall for desserts, cheese and biscuits and further drinks including port. Ticket price will be £22.50 per head to include all food and drinks. This has proved to be a popular event in previous years and we would encourage any newcomers to the area to come along. We are looking for volunteers to host the main course and provide canapés and desserts. Please contact either Pat or me on 837237 if you wish to attend. |
