By Viv Robins, Clerk to The Lee Parish Council Sad to report Giles Knowles is stepping down from The Lee Parish Council due to pressure of other commitments. He has been a member for many years and the Council will miss his energy and plain speaking. Among his other achievements, as many of you will know, he put a tremendous amount of time and effort into masterminding the very successful first phase of the playground improvements. However the Council’s loss could be another person’s opportunity as we will shortly be advertising formally for a new Councillor. The job is far from onerous – the Council meets only for a couple of hours every two months – and its main function of course is to try to reflect and promote the concerns and wishes of the community. If you think you might be interested do contact me on 837278 – or look out for the poster officially inviting applications. |
