school Lee Common School
By Annie Smith

Mrs Taberer, the School Secretary, is now installed in the newly-built office at the front of the school greeting all visitors to the school with a very warm and much more personal welcome!

A further facelift has taken place in the library area, which has been moved slightly to enable a better working area for IT sessions to support the children’s learning!

The sponsored spell, which took place on 31st October, has so far raised £421 towards the purchase of new audio equipment for use during literacy lessons.

A huge thank you for the wonderful letters received from you all in the local community to thank the children for their harvest gifts! These are very much appreciated.

Please do not forget to support us once again this year for our biggest fundraising event, the Xmas Fair, which takes place on Saturday 1st December, from 2 pm to 4 pm. You will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine with a mince pie and then spend some time browsing in the ‘Xmas Market’, where we will be selling home-made cakes, preserves and plants. There will be both an adult and children’s tombola in addition to our ever-popular raffle.
Younger visitors will be able to play a host of different games in the games room and also visit ‘Gift Alley’, where they can shop in secret for Mums, Dads and brothers and sisters, with each gift purchased being wrapped for them.

Since returning after half term, the children have been busy rehearsing for their Xmas play which this year takes place on Wednesday 12th December at 1:30 pm for senior citizens. We look forward to sharing a cup of tea with you afterwards as usual.

Please continue to visit and support the LCSA’s website: www.leecommonpta.org. If you regularly order online from M & S, Amazon or other leading retailers, the school will benefit if you order via www.buy.at/LCSA. Thank you for your support.
