By Colin Sully Did you notice how often in 2007, a group in the village asked for some volunteers to help maintain a village activity? Well, the good news is that a number of people have come forward… the bad news is that most groups still need more volunteers! So, if you haven’t made any New Year’s resolutions yet, here are some ideas for you to be thinking about. Better still here are some things for you to act upon! The Shop: some additional people have volunteered recently to serve in the Shop, but they are still looking for more; contact the Shop on 837195. The Scouts: Back in March a call went out for new blood to help with many sections of The Lee Scout Group; more help is still needed. Contact Group Scout Leader, Chris Nevill on 864881. The Cricket Club: With a growing colts section and additional teams, more help will be needed next season; contact Andy Devoy on 837256 or andeydevoy@yahoo.co.uk. The Flower Show: Back in September, Anne Kenyon asked for more volunteers to help in various ways with the Show; contact Anne on 862585. The Newsletter: As reported in July, we are also on the look-out for some additional ‘talent’ to join the team; contact the Editor for further details. So you see, plenty of opportunities to suit all talents, skills and abilities. These activities all rely on volunteers to keep them going; so why wait until the New Year to start a new habit? Pick up the phone now… you won’t regret it. |
