The Lee W.I.By Joyce Swain The Lee W.I. met at the Parish Hall on the 12th December. After dealing with the business, we enjoyed trying to answer fiendish quizzes, singing some carols and followed up with a wonderful Christmas tea. The raffle was such that every member won a prize! A good party! The Lee W.I. also met on the 8th January, and we heard of a Bucks Federation Day ‘Health Day, it’s a Woman’s Thing’, and of an outing to Westonbirt Arboretum in the spring. We then had an illustrated talk from Mr Mark Davis on ‘Grasse and the Perfume Industry’. We now realise what an ancient art it is, although taking a downturn in the Puritan era! Big tip – always try the perfume on your skin before purchase, to see how it smells on you. How you do this if the donor just turns up with it was unspecified. We concluded with our usual ample and enjoyable tea and chat. |
