If the old country lore is correct, the saying “April showers bring forth May flowers” will also lead to floral profusion in June and July too, though I'm not sure how snow, hail and sleet rate on the ‘flower-ometer’.
The Flower Show on 19th July is fast approaching and the schedules should be dropping through your letter boxes in the near future, and will also be available in due course via the village website: www.thelee.org.uk and follow the links to the Flower Show.
Holders of the trophies from last year will be burnishing their cups and dreaming of glories to come.
If you’ve never entered any of the classes now is your chance: there are classes for novices and visitors and lots of opportunities for local children to enter.
