By Trish Swain We Brits are eternal optimists, with all sorts of outdoor events planned every summer; from fêtes to flower shows, sports days to school fairs. As each big day approaches and volunteers are dragooned, cakes baked and raffle prizes rounded up, the organizers start to weather watch… will it, won’t it rain, that is? Having something of a vested interest in the bank holiday at the end of May, I’ve kept records for the last six years. If you’re planning an event next year for that weekend you may want to reflect on the following bank holiday Sundays: For those of you working in ‘old money’ 25mm = 1", to convert to Fahrenheit multiply by 9, divide by 5 and add 32.May 03 18°C max 7°C min and dry In the end you just have to go for it and prepare for all eventualities, carpe diem, and good luck with your event. |
