All’s well…By Barnaby Usborne Betty Fowler is now comfortably installed at Rayners Care Home in Hyde Heath after a traumatic summer of abduction and intrigue. The drama rivalled ‘Midsomer Murders’ for action and suspense but was deeply worrying at the time. As many will know, it started in June when Betty was taken away from Lee Common against her will by a relative who was acting under the Power of Attorney. Betty’s resourceful local friends, hearing of her unhappiness, sprang into action. A posse was dispatched and brought Betty back to a ‘safe house’ in Lee Common where she stayed until the legal details were sorted out. Happily this was achieved without going to court, but the whole episode has been expensive and one wonders what might have happened without the swift support of Betty’s friends in the parish. As a result of their prompt action, Betty is now at Rayners looking forward to seeing her many local friends. |
