As you may have read in last month’s Newsletter, our Harvest Festival at St John the Baptist Church on Sunday 5th October has been chosen as a ‘Back to Church’ day. Everyone involved in the church would like to encourage as many of our friends and neighbours as possible to come along to the service and the Harvest lunch.
Whether you’re someone who used to go to church, or someone who’s hardly ever been to church, you’ll be very welcome. So watch out for the invitations and tickets you may get, inviting you to join the congregation that day… of course, no ticket will be required at the church door – it’s the more, the merrier.
As for the Harvest lunch, this year it will be a bring and share affair (free, with a refreshing glass of wine provided) and for the first time will take place in the church itself straight after the 11 am service. It would be appreciated if people could bring cold savouries (e.g. sausages, sausage rolls, quiche) or a bowl of salad (e.g. rice, tomato, pasta, green salad) – anything that can be eaten with just a fork – or a dessert or fresh fruit.
