quiz Search me!
By Colin Sully

The Lee website has recently had two major developments that we hope will significantly enhance its usefulness and interest.

Firstly there is now a ‘Search’ facility on the website that scans through all of the more than 500 pages (yes, five hundred!) looking for references to whatever key words you type in. So, if you have ever wondered “Where have I come across Hethrons?” or “How can I quickly get my hands on a copy of the Flower Show schedule?” or even “What did Reina have to say about the history of Kings Lane?” then simply go to www.thelee.org.uk and type in a few key words in the ‘Search’ window.

The second major development, trailed in last month’s Newsletter, is that the whole of The Lee Millennium Diary is now available for viewing through the website. This diary was kept by people in the Parish during the year 2000 and includes all sorts of insights into village activity at that time – everything from flora and fauna through the seasons to what all the different groups were doing during the year. The contents provide a nostalgic reminder to those who lived in The Lee at the time and some interesting insights for more recent arrivals.

Thanks go especially to Andrew Burnett for ‘engineering’ these developments and to the Diary developers for making their work available. Enjoy!
