Clerk’s Corner
By Viv Robins, The Lee Parish Council

After the outrage of the missing shallots and the removal of the rubber edging around the concrete tunnel in the playground (December Newsletter) comes news of a still more heinous crime: the Lee Clump Road sign, installed only recently after almost a year of badgering Chiltern District Council, has been removed from the site which it occupied all too briefly at the junction with Oxford Street. It was later spotted by two Parish Councillors by the roadside on Kings Lane before disappearing again.

There’s speculation that the theft was the work of a shadowy organisation known only as AAARGH, or Anarchists Acting Against Road signs which they feel to be Genuinely Hideous. However since crime cannot be allowed to pay, the CDC will be re-installing the sign shortly – and this time concreting it into position.
