By Ron Miller, Chairman of the Rally Committee This annual vehicle rally is the main fund-raising event for The Game Club Charity and will be held at Weston Road, Aston Clinton (B4544) next to the Aylesbury Rugby Club on Sunday 17th May.
It promises to be an interesting and fun-packed day for all the family.
Now in its 16th year, this is one of the largest outdoor one-day events in
Bucks, offering a wide variety of vehicles including cars, lorries, emergency
vehicles, tractors, traction engines, motor cycles and many more as well
as other entertainment – craft stalls, auto-jumble, trade stands, licensed
bar, catering stands and children’s entertainment as well as helicopter rides
over the local countryside. There is something for everyone.Enquiries to 01296 631666 or email: penderjune@aol.com or visit www.chilternhillrally.org.uk The Game Club Charity raises funds to help local good causes, which do not benefit from national charities. Recent donations have included money for computer equipment in a local primary school, Chiltern Air Ambulance, the Normandy Veterans Association and the Whitchurch Cricket Club. At last year’s rally we were proud to be able to hand over the largest single donation we have ever made – a brand new Transit van for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home in Tring. They use this van to collect household goods, furniture, etc. which are sold through their network of shops. We are always keen to hear of worthy causes who may be helped by donations from our funds. If you are aware of an organisation or individual who may need help and who is not supported by a national charity, please write with details to: Mr D Heasman, Chairman, The Game Club Charity, Southern, The Green, Hardwick, Aylesbury, HP22 4DP. Last year’s Rally welcomed a record number of visitors and exhibitors – around 1,000 exhibitors and 6,000 members of the public. We hope as many of you as possible will join us for a fun day on 17th May and help us set an even greater record. |
