Clerk’s Corner
By Viv Robins

You’ll no doubt greet this news with a hollow laugh, but work is allegedly in hand by Bucks CC to fix the myriad pot-holes which have sprung up all over the Parish during the winter. The Highways gang were also planning to rod through the various drains/gullies on Princes Lane and Red Lion Hill, and outside Pipers and Bassibones, which seem to block up and overflow every time there is heavy rain.

Could you be a foster carer?
At the moment there’s a shortage of foster carers in Bucks to look after babies and teenagers. No formal qualifications are required – just room in your life and your home and a reasonable degree of energy and fitness! To find out more about fostering and adoption click on
www.buckscc.gov.uk/fostering or call 01296 382555.

Eating fish & chips is good...

….particularly if it’s in aid of a worthwhile charity like the Buckinghamshire-based ‘Spinal Injuries Association’ (SIA). To mark its 35th anniversary the charity is encouraging people to hold a fish and chip supper on Friday 15th May – Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day – at a suggested cost of £5 a head. The event can take place in your own home, at work or in a parish hall. The SIA will provide a fund-raising pack containing useful hints and tips, recipes, invitations and donation envelopes. I’ve put up a large poster advertising the event on the notice board by the Green, but for more information or to request a fund-raising pack call Elizabeth Wright on 0845 678 6633 ext. 229 or e-mail fishandchips@spinal.co.uk
