NEWSLETTER Archives
Editor or team? From the Editor
By Peter Archer

This month sees my first venture into the world of Newsletter editing and I am beginning to feel like one of those apprentices that Alan Sugar keeps banging on about. I am fortunate to have Colin and Andrew to sort me out when I get into difficulties!

By the time you receive this month’s Newsletter, spring will surely have arrived and we can begin to look forward to the summer events for which The Lee is renowned. Certainly, there seems to be a burst of spring-like activity from our local councils, as subsequent articles will describe. In recent weeks we have even found that a selection of potholes in the roads around The Lee has been temporarily filled, the remaining holes being left, no doubt, to act as a traffic calming scheme.

daffs In this month’s edition we have a further update on the very real threat of increasing aircraft traffic being routed over the Hilltop Villages. We must do all we can to fight this threat to our villages. Mind you, we shall still find our skies filled with the sound of helicopters which are even worse than Easyjet.

A ‘mystery’ writer has written an article provoking the thought that the economic and social problems facing the world might be helped by lively discussion in the local pubs. It should at least delay further pub closures!

The editorial team is always keen to receive articles and letters of topical interest from readers and material should be sent each month to: theleenewsletter@googlemail.com Many thanks to all who used it for this edition.
Next month the editorship passes to Jonathan Batten who, like me, has just recently joined the editorial team.

If you have articles on paper please send them to him at Saddlers, Swan Bottom, The Lee by 9th April (telephone:  837450).
