A murderously good Fête
By Catherine Larmour

There’s a lot to look forward to at this year’s Church Fête (on The-Lee Green on 20th June), and it will all be kicked off at 2:00 pm by the Midsomer Murders Society, who will be celebrating their visit to the setting of Badger’s Drift.

No doubt the idyllic location will look even better than it does on the telly and there should be a whole lot less crime… especially as we’re joined by the local PCSOs.

There is now much talk of what will, we are sure, be a hotly contested tug-o-war competition – barefooted, to make it even trickier! – between The Old Swan and The Cock and Rabbit teams. If you think you’ve got the strength and determination to take part, the landlords and ladies at those respective pubs would be pleased to hear from you.
Obviously, the fête needs two major things in order to succeed – lots of help, and lots of donations for the stalls.

If you’d like to help, either on the day or in the run-up to the day, please call Pam Batty on 863275.

As for the donations, in June’s Newsletter you’ll get details of when the tombola collectors will be doing their rounds. Look out for the leaflet coming through your door asking if you will be able to produce a prize for this most popular (and lucrative) stall.

Here’s a list of the people to contact if you are able to donate to the following stalls:
Raffle prizes – Tim Hart 837328,
Tombola – Jo and Steve Wall 837721,
Children's tombola – Charlotte Reynolds 793221,
Bric-a-brac (good quality items only please) – Reina Free 837407,
Toys – Kathryn Gurney 837016,
Plants – Mary Stewart-Liberty 837341,
Books – Arabella Norton 837847,
Cakes – Catherine Larmour 837309.
