badgers drift fete Badgers Drift, sorry, The-Lee church fête
By Catherine Larmour

So, the fête is nearly upon us again, and with June come inevitable happy thoughts of idyllic afternoons wandering, ice-cream (or Pimm’s) in hand, from stall to stall soaking up the atmosphere. It’s all too obvious why The-Lee Green was chosen as one of the sets for Badgers Drift in Midsomer Murders. The Midsomer Murders Society will be on hand to talk telly with any fans of the show.

But even if you only ever watch the news and generally eschew murder mysteries, this year’s fête has delights aplenty for you. As if tombola, maypole-dancing, a bouncy castle, plants, books, bric-a-brac and teas weren’t enough, there are pony rides, cakes, a coconut shy and so much more. Enjoy yourself in a frightfully English way… and raise vital funds for St John the Baptist Church at the same time.

If you haven’t already done it, do please dig deep and find items for the following stalls. We can’t do it without you! Many thanks.
  • Raffle prizes: Tim Hart 837328
  • Plants: TBC (please call Catherine on 837309 for details)
  • Bric-a-brac (nothing broken or incomplete, please): Reina Free 837407
  • Cakes: Catherine Larmour 837309
  • Cakes for teas: Wendy Robertson 863739
  • Books: Arabella Norton 837847
  • Tombola: Jo and Steve Wall 837721
  • Children’s tombola: Charlotte Reynolds 793221
  • Toys: Kathryn Gurney 83701
And to offer help on the day, please call Pam Batty on 863275. Looking forward to seeing you there.
