Editor or team? From the Editor
By Gilbert Nockles

The editorial baton changes hands and it is now my turn. As always many hands make light work and hopefully our readers are not confused by the merry-go-round.

Spring is with us and the countryside is looking at its best. There is plenty of activity and gossip in the village at this time of year as The Lee awakens from its winter slumbers and your eagle-eyed reporters are enthusiastically rooting out material to share with you. The competition between our farmers is warming up, who has the finest soil, the least flints and the biggest tractor; where will it all end?

The Cricket Club has a magnificent new clubhouse, congratulations to all who made it possible. It has endured a gestation period comparable with an elephant or whale but it is wonderful to see it finished. I do hear rumbles in the snug about the cars on Friday evening but credit to whoever put out the cones and designated ‘passing places’. We need to encourage the youngsters to get out and hone their skills so they can enjoy the pleasures of a wonderful game. Let us hope the parents show consideration when parking their cars.
On a lighter note the Church is again in need of finance. Perhaps a Residential Chancel Repair Liability search would help. More of this in a later issue.

In this edition we have notices of many local events, a full ‘cyber bag’ of letters plus a helpful article received by the Parish Council on Flexible Home Improvement Loans for the over 60s. Please form an orderly queue!
Words of thanks to John Fortgang who has resigned from the Newsletter following his move to Cuddington. A great contributor over the years and an inspiration to us all.

Next month the editorial baton passes to Barnaby Usborne. We welcome articles and letters of topical interest and these can be sent to theleenewsletter@googlemail.com. Manuscripts are always welcome.
