Editor or team? From the Editor
By Colin Sully

Sometimes this Editor’s piece is easy to write. A headline like “Plans to build a wind turbine at Hunts Green” or “Cricket Club closes” (neither is true!) means that you only have to point out the page numbers and leave the rest to the readers.

More typically however – and this month is a good example – the content of the Newsletter reflects a more subtle blend of village life: some joy and excitement, some sad news, an act of selflessness, an appeal, some thanks, a mystery… and sometimes a little controversy. They all add up to create the same mixture of events and emotions at ‘village-level’ that we experience in our personal lives.

It seems that recently everyone has been hard at work celebrating the great outdoors – the Scouts at their camp, the Rainbows and Brownies at the centenary celebrations and the village choir taking advantage of the late summer with an outdoor concert; we have reports on all of these. Reina Free has also been out and about looking for signs of change in our local environment and, of course, our intrepid sky-divers have been outdoors – in their case, 13,000 ft over Oxfordshire!

Next month the editorial baton remains at Swan Bottom with Jonathan Batten. Please send your contributions by 12th October to: theleenewsletter@googlemail.com or, if on paper, to Jonathan at Saddlers, Swan Bottom.
