By Barnaby Usborne The shop continues to thrive and the turnover has now reached the point where, under the rules governing Industrial and Provident Societies, its accounts for the year ending 31st December 2009 will need to be examined and reported on by a registered auditor (a Chartered or Incorporated Accountant). A local firm of accountants has quoted a fee of £925 plus VAT for this service, but we think this is rather a lot. Is there anyone in the community who is suitably qualified and would be prepared to do it for less? As far as we can judge it would involve about 6-8 hours work. The Treasurer, Leslie Robins (837278), would welcome any offers. |
