This announcement marked the birth of the Lee W.I. In August this year the 90th birthday was celebrated in the grounds of Mulberry Lodge.
It was a hot sunny day filled with birdsong and the buzzing of bees as the members attacked the melting cream gateaux and scones.
Jean Morris, the new Buckinghamshire president and the treasurer Beryl Coombs congratulated The Lee Institute on its longevity and active participation in the community.
