The Parish Hall New Year’s Eve party went with a swing. Around fifty villagers took part in a rousing welcome to 2010. Mulled wine to start, a sumptuous three course meal rounded off with Stilton and port.
David Jones – he of the coloratura broken tenor tonsils – led the gathering in a festive (and by that stage of the evening, raucous) version of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Then a jolly disco well-suited to the musical taste of the participants who shed years as they jigged to YMCA with appropriate arm waving. Champagne at midnight brought on even more singing and merriment. What a great time.
