quiz Quizzical-Lee!
Compiled by Colin Sully

We offered a small prize to the first person to submit a set of correct answers to the December quiz. As it turned out the fact that Revd Slithurst was the first Curate at The Lee (or so we have been led to believe) eluded you all.
However in the spirit of Christmas the prize will be awarded to the first person to submit nine correct answers – Carol Addison of Lee Common; a bottle is slowly on its way to you.

As we approach the final few laps of this cryptic ‘Tour-de-Lee’, once again the clues are a mixture of the blindingly obvious and the hopelessly obscure – but which are which? This month the answers all start with the letter T… and relate of course to The Lee parish.
  1. Buried for the future outside the Parish Hall (4, 7 letters)
  2. Places for public communication … in Oxford Street and at Swan Bottom (9, 6)
  3. Arithmetic without ice, provides trusty treasurer (3, 4)
  4. Periods between holidays, e.g. at Lee Common School (5)
  5. The place to find love, all (6, 5)
  6. Afternoon equivalent of coffee and biscuits? (3, 3, 5)
  7. Birchley, Swain or Usborne? (6)
  8. Transport for The Lee farmers (8)
  9. Moved in Oxford Street… by the PC! (9, 4)
  10. Tells residents when they arrive, depart, collect, deliver, etc. (10)
