By Trish SwainNever has the arrival of spring been more eagerly anticipated; little green spears of snowdrops forcing their way through frozen ground are heralded, the witch hazel flowers which survive all that nature can throw at them are cherished and the lighter evenings are welcomed. Then, alas, more snow falls and frosty mornings prevail and it seems that spring will never get here! So it will be with some relief that I open my National Garden Scheme (NGS) ‘Yellow Book’ at the beginning of March, for that is a true harbinger of spring.
It will also mean that the countdown begins to the opening of the gardens at Kingswood House and 2 Kingswood Cottages on Sunday 23rd May for the NGS from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Let’s hope the sun shines this year.
