the lee wi Quizzical-Lee!
Compiled by Colin Sully

Having started this alphabetical journey around The Lee with Allotments, Arrewig and Arthur and having visited pretty much everywhere else in The Lee in between, so we finally reach our destination – mainly the Ws together with a token representation from X, Y and Z.

Looking back over the past two and a half years, some of the clues now appear a little too contrived, others much too easy and a few simply ridiculous – this month it is much the same!

To make this final set a little easier, the answers this month – as well as all starting with W, X, Y or Z – also all appear in strict alphabetical order.

In order to mark the end of the journey, a small prize will also be awarded this month to the first person to send a full set of correct answers to the Editor, eiether by email to theleenewsletter@googlemail.com or hard copy to Fairleigh, Swan Bottom.

Now what shall we turn our hand to next? Any suggestions?

  2. Veer down to the north-west (8)
