By Catherine Larmour I’m sure that by now you’ve got Saturday 19th June in your diaries as Fête Day – with capital letters, naturally. As anyone who’s been living around here for a while will probably know, the Church Fête is a hugely popular event, a delightful blend of fun and games made possible by a large number of hard-working locals. Although the funds it raises are for the church (and very important they are too) the Fête involves many people from all around the parish and beyond, church-going and non-church-going alike. This year, to spread the workload a bit more evenly, we’re asking for a few more helpers to collect raffle or tombola prizes/sell raffle tickets over a small area. If you can help, please call Catherine on 837309. Another request: do any of you have a gazebo or two that you could lend us for the day of the Fête? We need as many as possible – nothing to do with wet weather, of course, but purely to keep the inevitable blazing sun from beating down on the stallholders... please contact the numbers given above with any offers.
