Leeside Nursery
By Suzanne Beaney

This term the children have been learning about the weather, how the seasons change, what clothes we wear and how the weather affects us. What do we do on a snowy day or on a sunny day? Would we wear the same clothes? Lots of questions for the children to think about and give an answer too.

We have had several really sunny days and the grass has dried out so the children can play outside, they love it when they can go on the grass behind the tennis court and go up on the grassy mound. The young children are not sure at first but they soon get their confidence to walk up and down.

EASTER AT THE NURSERY The older children pretend to be mountain rescue and use skipping ropes to pull each other up on their tummies or hands and knees.

We had an Easter egg hunt with clues leading to the eggs which the children worked out and went to find the next clue: they enjoyed this, specially the end bit.

The parents’ coffee morning went well with the children singing Easter and weather songs, finishing with a parade of Easter hats which had been made by the children with the parents. A raffle was drawn with lots of prizes; thank you to all the parents and relations who supported us in any way, the money raised is to buy new toys for the Nursery.
