cricketer Lee Common School
By Arabella Norton

Term is well underway now with all the new children happily settled into school and everyone is working very hard. The children have been looking forward to their Harvest Festival Service at the Church on 19th September and have been bringing in lots of Harvest gifts in the form of Christmas present items to go in shoeboxes for children in Romania.

They have also been eagerly anticipating their day out to the ‘Gruffalo Workshop’ which complements the work they are doing in literacy this term. They are thrilled with the new playground equipment which has been installed and thank you to everyone who helped in the fundraising for this. The front playground has also been re-surfaced and the lines for all the games should, weather permitting, be painted on next week.

And finally, this is a request for anyone in the village who has an hour (or more) to spare to come in and listen to the children read once a week. It is the small class sizes and lots of individual attention that our children receive which makes our school so special and if you would like to play your part in this we would really appreciate it. You will be given full training and you will need to be C.R.B. checked but please do contact the school (Tel: 837267 or email office@leecommon.bucks.sch.uk) with any further questions you may have about this vitally important task.
