The 1984 Flower Show followed a similar pattern to many others. Pictured here is the Chairman, Tim Hilder, accompanied by his wife, Felicity, in front of the coconut shy.
The sideshows had more of a country flavour than now, and included chair weaving, hay bale tossing and horseshoe tossing as well as the ever popular skittles and coconut shy.
Musical accompaniment was provided by the Ellesborough Silver Band.
In the marquee, many of the classes could still be recognised today.
The Art Show was a firm fixture in 1984, demonstrated by this scale model of the Irving 3Abreast Gallopers.
As ever, the day ended with prize giving.
