KOPIASTE! (Greek for: “Come in and eat”)

For one night only The Shop at The Lee is holding a pop-up Greek restaurant in the Parish Hall on the evening of Saturday 14th September. This has been conceived primarily as a social event for the village with the bonus that all profits will go to a couple of local charities*.

The evening will start with a complimentary welcome drink followed by a 4-course meal of meze starters, a main of moussaka (with vegetarian options), Greek potatoes and Greek salad and a trio of deserts. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available to buy at our normal reasonable shop prices, profits from which will also go to charity. There will also be a (short) raffle and an auction for a surprise treat.

Capacity is 64 covers (8 tables x 8). Tickets are £25, and will be available from the shop from this Friday (9th August), ideally by popping in personally or, if you are unable to get there, you can phone the shop during opening hours on 01494 837195 and we will reserve some for you. Please note we have a limit of 8 tickets per single transaction.

* There so many deserving causes that we found it impossible to make a choice, so we drew out two names by lottery. Consequently, the profits from the event, including proceeds from the sale of wines on the evening by the Shop, will go to Missenden Walled Garden and DrugFAM.
