It is perhaps worth noting that very little of what we see at the moment, in terms of HS2 activity in The Lee, will be there in the final design. For example, we can see:
- a temporary crossing on Leather Lane to be used as an internal access road during construction
- temporary mounds of top-soil, sub-soil, and chalk placed in the fields near Hunts Green Farm during the construction of the access road and the excavation of the cuttings
- temporary ponds to catch run-off water during construction
- temporary archaeology works.
What we will eventually see is depicted in these plans approved by Parliament during the final Bill stages. What we don’t yet know is how long it will take to realise these plans!
