The Jubi-Lee, The Lee’s celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, took place on Friday 3rd June 2022. The programme of events (all timings approximate!), was :
๐:๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ก: Platinum Platters, Pints & Pimms at The Cock & Rabbit.
๐:๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง: For age groups up to 7 years old, 7-11 years old and 12-15 years old. Races, depending on the numbers of entrants on the day, will include egg and spoon race, flat races (three heats), bean bag balancing on head race, team โcombinationโ relay, hula hoop endurance (not the eating kind!), tug-o-war. Awards for Best Crown in Town and Best Jubi-Lee outfit.
๐:๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐: Around The Lee Green to the Parish Hall. Red, white and blue outfits, vintage vehicles, show cars, decorated rickshaw and bicycles, decorated pets. Gather around the green prior to the parade setting off at 3:00 pm. Disperse at the Parish Hall.
๐:๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ข๐ ๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ: Marquees, tables and chairs will be available but best to bring your own picnic blankets and chairs. Bring your own picnic. Leave it in the hall from 1:45 pm whilst you go to the green. Tea by the cup available. Wine, beer, soft drinks, ice-creams and limited edition commemorative mugs (subject to availability) available from the shop. Live music. Background music from the Platinum Decades. Village memorabilia exhibition in the Hall. Scouting activities on display. Bouncy castle. Cut out of The Queen with Corgi for photographs (just like the seaside).

The Jubilee started with a competition for the best crowns and regal attire…









… followed by races and multiple tug-of-wars.







There was a parade with various modes of transport…









… which made its way to the Parish Hall where there were singers…
